This coffeeshop is definitely the place to be if you like your music and your coffee hot and black (as in vinyl) - and you’re in the Vesterbro neighborhood of Copenhagen.

What a great idea:

“In addition to the coffee the place doubles as a record shop featuring sleazy-listening, moog-pop, electrotrash and acid-folk on vinyl. And the music being played is always vinylised.”

Thanks to The Copenbloggin for the heads-up.

  • Thanks to “A Reason for Vinyl”
  • Some blogs...

Some blogs express life with a pure clarity. An example is darkritual 99’s A Reason for Vinyl post:

” …now that the world is going digital and music is increasingly stored on hard drives instead of in your CD tower, the time honoured tradition of going through your parent’s music collection is forever altered. It will consist of looking at file names in a browser window, instead of poring over big album covers.”

    Cool views. Read it all.

  • All hail the return of the vinyl single!

According to the Sunday Telegraph “Annual sales are back above a million (having been below 200,000 five years ago), with two-thirds of Arctic Monkeys singles being bought in vinyl.”

    Artic Monkeys are so cool.

Peter Wilby of the new Statesman writes:

“The revival of vinyl, like most musical trends, is probably a PR creation. Now that CD recordings can be downloaded free from the internet, vinyl - like live concerts, which are also enjoying a revival - is a way of making money out of music again.” (Media: Sooner or later you pay for it)

Capitalism aside, vinyl lovers can’t help but be encouraged. Look for a run on record players.
